Thunderstorms, Some Severe, Possible Tonight
An upper level storm system will approach the region today. Southeasterly low level winds out ahead of the system will continue to draw abundant moisture into the region, and result in the chance of thunderstorms over southeast New Mexico and West Texas tonight as the system begins to move over the area. A few of the storms could be severe, especially over the northern Permian Basin and western Low Rolling Plains. Large hail and damaging winds will be the main threats, roughly along and east of a Lamesa to Tarzan line.
