Chase Turns Into Hostage Situation in Andrews County 10/25/13 UPDATE: 9:45PM
Texas Rangers tell CBS 7 that this all started as a high speed chase at Yukon and Highway 385 because of a stolen vehicle.
At one point, two suspects inside started firing shots at lawmen, and finally stopped near the picnic area north of Odessa on 385.
Rangers say the men got out and began firing shots again at lawmen, before carjacking a vehicle. turned around and headed south back toward Odessa.
They stopped a short time later and exchanged shots with lawmen.
The two suspects were taken to the hospital.
Rangers say one of the men had a felony warrant out of New Mexico.
Three hostages who were in the vehicle were unharmed and are safe.
Texas Rangers have taken over the investigation since law enforcement officers were involved.
Charges are pending.
UPDATE 8:30 P.M.
385 North and South near the Andrews County line are still closed as The Department of Public Safety and The Texas Rangers are investigating.

Texas Rangers on the scene tell CBS 7 they will give information in 2-3 hours.
UPDATE: 6:35 P.M.
An officer on the scene tells us that people are being cleared away from the standoff situation on Hwy. 385 because there are explosives on the scene
Texas Rangers are present and officials tell us that shots were fired.
A medical helicopter has just left the scene, however it is not clear who was transported and in what condition
UPDATE: 5:45 P.M.
TXDoT has been called in to do traffic control on Hwy. 385 in south Andrews county.
The road will be closed to both southbound and northbound traffic. Authorities suggest people traveling to and from Andrews use 1788 instead.
ANDREWS COUNTY - According to scanner traffic, a vehicle chase north of Odessa across the Andrews County line on TX-385 has come to a stop and the driver reportedly has a weapon and may be holding a hostage in the vehicle.
