After Hiatus, Obama Returns to Campaign Mode in NY 10/25/13
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is opening a six-week burst of fundraising for Democrats with a pair of events in New York.
Obama put political events on hold for about a month amid the crisis over government funding and the debt ceiling.
He's returning to campaign mode Friday with appearances benefiting the national Democratic Party and the House Democrats' campaign arm.
Obama's remarks will offer an early look at how he plans to frame the recent government shutdown and the messy health insurance rollout for donors and voters ahead of next year's pivotal midterm elections.
Before the fundraisers, Obama will visit a Brooklyn high school to showcase a rare partnership between public schools, a public university system and IBM. Students can finish high school with an associate's degree in computers or engineering.
