More Than a Dozen Colleges Converge on Alpine 10/25/13

The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association is returning to its birthplace.
Sul Ross University is hosting an annual rodeo event that will bring about 15 different schools to Alpine. This is the 68th year that the event has been held in the city.
Competitions run Thursday through Sunday at the SALE arena at the Turner Range Animal Center. It costs $6 dollars for adults. Children and Sul Ross students and staff get in for free. Slacks will be held Friday and Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. There is no cost for slacks.
Besides Sul Ross University, 15 other colleges are participating. They include: Angelo State University, Clarendon College, Eastern New Mexico State University, Frank Phillips College, Howard College, New Mexico Jr. College, Odessa College, Ranger Junior College, South Plains College, Tarleton State University, Texas Tech University, Vernon Junior Regional College, Weatherford College, West Texas A&M University, and Western Texas College.
