ODESSA-It's been a decade since their last survey, but the Odessa Parks and Recreation Director Steve Patton reports a dip in the percentage of people who say they are satisfied with parks.
39 percent of the more than 1,000 survey respondents said they were satisfied, a decrease from 69 percent back in 2003.
Patton points to aesthetic changes to parks contributing to the decrease as well as overcrowding and other issues facing parks.
"It's because of the explosion of population, parks being overused, and a lot of the playground equipment is now worn out," said Odessa Parks and Recreation Director Steve Patton.
