Midland Scholarship Chili Cook Off Features City-County Rivalry 10/22/13
MIDLAND - The Midland Municipal Scholarship Fund will hold its 7th Annual Chili Cook Off from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 7 at First Baptist Church (2104 W. Louisiana Ave.).
This year's Chili Showdown will begin the rivalry between City of Midland and Midland County for year-long bragging rights and possession of the traveling trophy.
Proceeds from the cook off will benefit The City of Midland Employees Scholarship Fund. Each year, this fund awards education scholarships to City of Midland employee and their children. The Scholarship Fund awarded $8,250 to deserving students last year.
Several local businesses will be supporting the event by bringing door prizes and more.
The winner with the best overall chili will win a cash prize in the amount of the total registration fees.
