A Light Night on Ice 10/21/13
UNDATED - There are three games on the NHL schedule this evening.
In Detroit, the Red Wings and San Jose Sharks are facing off for the first time this season. Once rivals in the Western Conference, the Wings and Shark are now cross-conference competitors as Detroit is now in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference while the Sharks are in the Pacific Division of the West. Each club is off to a good start as Detroit is 6-3 and the Sharks are 7-0-1.
Another good matchup tonight has Pittsburgh playing host to Colorado. Each club comes in with a record of seven wins and one loss. This is a meeting of a team that is unbeaten on the road and one with five wins on home ice. By the way, Sidney Crosby of the Pens is off to his best start ever with 17 points on seven goals and 10 assists.
The Kings are enjoying a good start to the season as well with wins in six of nine games. Tonight, Los Angeles is home to Calgary. Last season the Kings won all three games between the clubs by the combined score of 12-4. This is the first of five games this season.
