Voters Can Get A Free Copy Of Birth Certificate In Order To Obtain Proper IDs To Vote 10/21/13
October 21, 2013
A state wide provision now allows voters to get a free copy of their birth certificate in order to get an Election Identification Card. Voters must pick up a voting application at a polling site, then either register to voter or bring their voter's registration to the county clerk's office. The county clerk's office will provide voters with a free copy of their birth certificate. That certificate will be designated for voting purposes only. They can then take the birth certificate and voter's registration card to a DPS office to apply for an Election Identification Card.
