NJ Gov. Christie Drops Gay Marriage Appeal 10/21/13
LAMBERTVILLE, N.J. - New Jersey's governor is no longer challenging the start of same-sex marriages in his state.
The decision by Republican Chris Christie removes the possibility that the vows exchanged by couples who began getting married today could be undone by a court.
Christie has said state residents, and not a court or legislators, should decide the issue. But a Christie spokesman says the governor will enforce the law as interpreted by the state Supreme Court.
