Facebook May be Taking Police Away From Actual Police Work 10/21/13
CBS 7 News
A great thing about Facebook, is that anyone can partake in the social aspect it provides. That same anonymity can also be detrimental to organization such as police forces.
On Friday night, Midland Department of Public Safety got a call that a person on Facebook was attempting to commit suicide, and that person was loading bullets into his/her gun. State troopers responded to the house listed on the Facebook, only to find that it wasn’t posted by anyone in that house. This trip took officers away from what could have been, a more dangerous situation.
