Midland ISD Chapter 41 Measure on the November Election Ballot 10/20/13

Midland – Early voting begins tomorrow and Midland ISD will have an item on the ballot.
MISD is considered a Chapter 41 school district, meaning the district will have to send a portion of money to the state to be distributed to ‘less wealthy’ school districts.
The measure on the ballot is to vote for or against the measure.
MISD is required to call the election to get voter approval to purchase attendance credits to comply with the law in full.
If we vote to not purchase these credits, the Texas Education Code would mandate that commissioner Williams officially detach property from our school district and give it to other districts that adjoin MISD.
