HOWARD COUNTY-Howard County Commissioner Jimmie Long said there will be a special meeting this Monday to discuss their road use agreement.
Under the original agreement, the county proposed to charge oil and trucking companies $4,500 for a road use permit for each access entrance that intersects a county road.
The road use agreement was adopted by commissioners in December in an effort to help fund much-needed repairs to county roadways damaged by the increase in truck traffic generated by the recent oil boom.
It was supposed to go into effect Oct. 1, but commissioners voted last week to bump the charge down to $2,500.
Now the county says they may have to reconsider the way they have implemented the system all together because of legal problems.
No money has yet been collected.
