Monday morning's storm caused major damage on many homes and streets in the area.
The water levels are drawing back as residents in South Midland recover from the damage.
Here’s a photo from the same area a few hours earlier.
Many people are cleaning up debris including random furniture that drifted onto front yards.
Road crews spent all day filling in potholes and flood companies were busy repairing water damage.
Still many Midlanders say they are not weathered at all and welcome the precipitation to the drought stricken area.
Emergency crews have been busy Monday night with several grass fires in the area.
According to officials many people are burning their trash because they feel like it's safe now but it's still important to use extreme caution.
Currently there are 40 counties in the state of Texas that have burn bans in effect.
That includes Crane, Glasscock, Loving, Winkler, Ward, Jeff Davis and Upton Counties.
Counties without established burn bans are Midland, Ector, Andrews and Howard Counties to name a few.
