Colts Travel to San Diego 10/14/13
SAN DIEGO - The Colts take a three-game winning streak into San Diego in a Monday night match-up with the Chargers.
Quarterback Andrew Luck has guided Indianapolis to a 4-1 start including a big comeback win over previously unbeaten Seattle last week. But the Colts defense has also stood out in the early part of the season. Indy has seven interceptions in five games as part of a plus-6 turnover differential. Robert Mathis has already racked up 9.5 sacks for the Colts who are giving up just under 16 points per game.
And that could be bad news for San Diego quarterback Phillip Rivers who has struggled at times for the 2-3 Chargers. He's coming off a three-interception performance in a surprising loss to Oakland, despite throwing for over 400 yards. If he reaches that mark again tonight against the Colts, he'll become the first quarterback in NFL history for three straight 400-yard passing games.
