Latest Details on Fatal Andrews Loop Accident 10/14/13

ANDREWS-CBS 7 is learning more information after an accident on the new loop left on man dead and another in critical condition.
TXDOT says there are currently no plans to place traffic signals at the intersection of Loop 1910 and SH 115 where the accident occurred.
The City of Andrews says SH 115 near where the accident occurred was widened before the construction of the loop to enhance safety.
"The accident this weekend was unfortunate and tragic," said Andrews City Manager Glen Hackler. "We are going to continue to review all intersections of the Loop for additional safety enhancements."
The city says there are no overhead lights in the area near where the accident happened, but they will evaluate changing that.
Gene Powell of TXDOT says they will be reviewing the circumstances of the accident to determine if any changes need to be made at the intersection.

ANDREWS, TX-A fatal accident in the City of Andrews leaves one man dead and another in critical condition according to Midland DPS Officials.
DPS Officials say early Saturday morning a two vehicle crash occured at the intersection of Interstate Highway 115 and Andrews Loop 1910.
A 2006 Chevrolet Truck, driven by Andres Ramirez, of Pharr, TX was driving eastbound on State Highway 115 when an 18-wheeler, driven by Raymundo Dominguez of Odessa, ran a stop sign and was struck by Ramirez's truck.
Ramirez is in critical condition at Odessa Medical Center.
Augustine Jaime Torres, a passenger in the truck, was pronounced dead on the scene at approximately 7:40 a.m.
Andrews County Sheriff's Office says the accident is still an ongoing investigation.
