Blues Win 10/10/13
The St. Louis Blues have tied a team record for most consecutive victories to begin a season.
The Blues are 3-0 after Alex Steen scored with 21.1 seconds left to lift them past the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2. Vladimir Tarasenko and David Backes (BAK'-ehs) also scored for the Blues, who are 3-0 for the first time in 20 years.
Jaroslav Halak (hah-LAHK') stopped 26 shots against the defending Stanley Cup champs. Halak has been in the nets for each of the Blues' three victories.
Also on ice:
- Sean Monahan had a goal and an assist as Calgary beat Montreal 3-2 to improve to 2-0-2. Joey MacDonald turned back 33 shots for the Flames.
- Los Angeles coughed up a 3-0 lead before Jeff Carter's tip-in at 28 seconds of overtime lifted the Kings past Ottawa 4-3. Carter scored twice and had an assist, while linemate Dustin Brown added a pair of goals.
