Gaming Room Warning; Prosecution for Issuing Playbacks 10/8/13

Gaming establishments are starting to feel the heat after a recent crackdown in the Permian Basin.
Several weeks ago, law enforcement officials raided about a dozen gaming rooms in Odessa for violating gambling laws.
Now, according to Midland County Sheriff Gary Painter, gaming establishments will be prosecuted for issuing playbacks.
Under the Texas Penal Code it is illegal for gaming rooms to give patrons credit to use on machines at a later time.
We spoke with a game room operator who says with no rewards for the customer, business will slow down and they will eventually be forced to close.
