Remembering An Upton County Deputy Killed In The Line of Duty 10/8/13

(Rankin)- Today family, friends and law enforcement from across West Texas were in Rankin to remember Upton County Deputy Billy "Bubba" Kennedy.
Last week Kennedy was shot and killed in a convenience store parking lot.
Since then the loss of a hometown hero has shaken the small community of McCamey.
"Bubba was one of the most dedicated deputies. He went full throttle on everything."
Thatís a statement from Upton Co. Sheriff Dan Brown.
Flags are at half-staff throughout the community of Rankin in honor of Upton Co. Deputy Bubba Kennedy.
Hundreds from across the state gathered at the Rankin Community Building and made the trip to visit the site where he was laid to rest.
Gary Green, the man charged with the shooting death of Deputy Kennedy remains hospitalized in Odessa.
Sheriff's deputies say he will be charged with capital murder.
