Jets Blow Late Lead, Win Anyway 10/8/13
ATLANTA - Geno Smith is becoming a comeback kid for the New York Jets.
The Jets blew a 13-point lead in the fourth quarter before Nick Folk hit a 43-yard field goal as time expired to give New York a 30-28 win over the Falcons in Atlanta. Smith engineered an eight-play, 55-yard drive right after Matt Ryan hit Levine Toilolo (toh-ee-LOH'-loh) for a three-yard touchdown with 1:54 left to put Atlanta ahead 28-27.
Smith was 16 of 20 for 199 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He had no turnovers after entering the game with a league-high 11 in his first four games.
The Jets improved to 3-2, with two of those victories coming on drives engineered by Smith with under two minutes to play.
Ryan completed 36 of his 45 passes for 319 yards, two TDs and no picks, but the Falcons fell to 1-4 and moved four games behind first-place New Orleans in the NFC South.
