Truck Dumps Load of Limes, Souring Morning Commute 10/4/13
SAN ANTONIO- Portions of a San Antonio highway have been reopened
after a tractor-trailer carrying 40,000 pounds of limes overturned, sending much
of its cargo across the roadway.
Ramps from Interstate 37 to U.S. 90 south of downtown were reopened early
Thursday afternoon, hours after the rig toppled over when its load shifted as it
exited I-37. The accident cause extensive delays for morning commuters. Police
say the truck driver and a passenger were not seriously hurt.
Efforts to reopen the ramps were slowed by the number of limes strewn around
the accident site.
