Pink is the new black and Midland Memorial Hospital kicks off the Pink The Basin to raise awareness for breast cancer. Today marks the beginning of October as well as the nations breast cancer awareness month. The disease continues to be the second leading cause of death among women. According to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, each year it is estimated that over 200,000 thousand women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 40,000 thousand will die.
It is time for Family Science Night at the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum. October 3rd will be the first family science night. Families are invited to participate in hands on science experiments and projects. There is no charge to participate.
