Sunny Skies And Hot Temperatures Again Today 10/1/13
Tuesday Weather Update
Greg Morgan Ė Chief Meteorologist
Another sunny and hot day is expected across West Texas. Highs will reach into the mid and upper 90ís. A few locations will even hit 100 degrees this afternoon. It is going to feel more like summer than the first day of October. Wind will be out of the south at 5-10mph.
The overall hot and dry weather pattern will continue through much of the week. Highs will be in the 90ís and skies will be sunny through at least Thursday.
A cold front will move into the area on Friday. Highs will likely top out in the upper 80ís to around 90 prior to the front moving through. Once the front moves into the area, expect an abrupt shift in the wind. Cooler temperatures will move into the region as strong north winds funnel Canadian air southward. While rain chances appear to be small, a few storms developing over the eastern Permian Basin canít be ruled out.
Look for much cooler temperatures in the wake of this front. Weekend highs will be in the 60ís and 70ís. Overnight lows will drop into the 40ís.
