UPDATE: Officer Involved Shooting Leaves 19-Year-Old Dead in Howard County 9/27/13

UPDATE: 11:15am ***
The incident began after a 911 phone call. Deputy Alfredo Hilario responded to residence south of Big Spring in Howard County. According to the preliminary investigation, the deputy encountered an armed man and shot the individual. Caleb Hector, 19, died at the Scenic Mountain Medical Center.
As is standard procedure in the type of incident, Deputy Alfredo Hilario has been placed on Administrative Leave with Pay pending the completion of the investigation by Texas Rangers
The Howard County Sheriff’s Office has requested the Texas Rangers to assist in the investigation. Since this is an ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released today.
On Friday September 27, 2013 at approximately 2:00am a Deputy with the Howard County Sheriff’s Office was involved in an Officer involved shooting in the Southern part of Howard County.
The Texas Rangers were called and responded to the scene and are investigating the incident.
At this time no further information is available for release and any future statements relating to the incident will come from the Texas Rangers.
