Man Gets 40 Years for Dallas-Area Bank Robberies 9/26/13
DALLAS - A gunman has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for his role
in three Dallas-area bank robberies in an investigation linked to a guard's
A federal judge in Dallas on Wednesday sentenced 51-year-old Jesus Sandoval.
Sandoval in January pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit bank robbery and
two counts of using a firearm and possessing a firearm during a violent crime.
The holdups were in February, August and October 2009.
Lopez and his partner, Enrique Sandoval, were arrested during a chase after
the Oct. 3, 2009, robbery of a bank celebrating its grand opening.
Lopez last fall was sentenced to life in prison for the September 2009 fatal
shooting of security guard Cresencio Borquez during another holdup. Lopez
pleaded guilty to the slaying and to five bank robberies.
