One More Day Of Heat 9/26/13
Tuesday Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
High Pressure will remain in control of the weather pattern for one more day across Southwest Texas. As a result, highs will reach into the 90’s across the area and skies will be sunny. Winds will be a little more noticeable today than in days past. Expect a south wind at 10-20mph with a few higher gusts.
A storm system driving out of the northwest United States will continue to move into the area as we approach the weekend. At the same time, moisture will move into the area in the low and mid levels of the atmosphere. This will set the stage for rainfall across the area. A 20% chance of rain will be in the forecast on Friday and a 30% chance of storms on Saturday. A favorable area of the upper level jet stream will move over the area on Saturday. This will bring a chance of strong thunderstorms into the picture on Saturday afternoon.
Highs will be much cooler over the weekend. Look for highs in the 70’s and 80’s over the weekend. Rain chances will come to an end on Sunday.
