Some employees may have received a paper from they employer touching on the new health insurance marketplace coverage option. What it explains is general information about Obamacare and how it pertains to you personally with your employer. If Obamacare comes into play, employers MUST notify their employees by October 1st about their companiesí coverage.
The new health insurance market place coverage option could be effective for an individual starting in January 1st 2014.
According to life and health insurance agent Peggy Harris, the marketplace plans are being offered through private carriers who are approved to offer those plans. In the marketplace, people can see if they are eligible for a subsidy.
If your employer covers these ten benefits and if their coverage is deemed affordable, then your company meets the minimum value standard.
If your employer coverage meets the minimum value standard, your family may NOT qualify for a subsidy, or in other words, a government grant.
If your employer coverage does NOT meet the minimum value standard, you and your family may qualify for a subsidy.
Insurance experts we spoke to say details are changing daily and and insurance agents are researching and going to seminars to learn more.
