Judge Revokes Probation for Robbery Suspect, Receives 20-Year Sentence 9/24/13

Ector County District Attorney, Bobby Bland, issues the following statement:
Osiel Alvarez received the maximum sentence of 20 years in prison when his deferred adjudication was revoked by Judge John Smith yesterday.
Alvarez was indicted on September 16, 2013 for 1 count of aggravated robbery, 3 counts of credit card abuse and 3 counts of evading arrest or detention for his actions on August 1, 2013, which included a robbery of Heather Conner in the HEB parking lot.
Alvarez was originally placed on deferred adjudication in July of 2013 for aggravated assault.
