MIDLAND-From Midland City Council members to long-time CAF members, many have spoken out against a move of its headquarters.
Another prominent donor, Joe Mabee, chair of the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation is voicing his wish to keep the CAF in the community that paid for its facilites.
“It gives the general staff total control over what happens in CAF and the membership are cut out,” Said Director of the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation Joe Mabee.
The vote will take place Friday, October 11th, just one day before the CAF’s annual air show. Tomorrow, the Midland City Council will hear a resolution asking the CAF’s $50,000 air show funding to be cut if the HQ moves.
Odessa City Manager Richard Morton said today that the city of Odessa does not plan to make any changes to air show funding at this time.
