Obama Urges Business Leaders to Help Avoid Confrontation with Congress 9/18/13
WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama is looking for help from some of the nation's top corporate executives. He urged them today to use their influence with Congress to avoid a confrontation over the nation's debt ceiling.
Obama is again vowing not to negotiate with Republicans over raising the borrowing limit -- a line that the government could hit as early as next month.
In a speech to the Business Roundtable, Obama blamed a "faction" of the Republican party that he says is trying to eliminate his health care law by threatening a government shutdown or a default on the debt.
