ODESSA, TX-An Odessa girl has been in ICU for the last month after being in a horrific accident.
What was supposed to be a fun day in the sun with a group of friends at the lake, ended up taking a turn for the worst.
Kiely Dove, 24, broke over ten bones in her body after cliff diving, and she may never be able to walk again.
Friends and family of Kiely held a fundraiser today at Corky's Bar & Grill, in hopes that their community would help out with the medical expenses.
The community definitely showed their love and support for her today. Kiely’s best friends say she has gone through 8 different surgeries and there's still more to be done.
Her Best friends, Maegan Hanson and Makaylye Albright, organized today’s fundraiser in hopes to raise as much funds to help their friend in need.
"She was awesome! She has a bunch of friends, she was very active in the church community, I mean she would've done this for me so I knew it was just something I had to do," said Hanson.
The fundraiser had a live band, sold homemade brusquest burritos, raffle tickets, and held a small auction.
The community has been so helpful and supportive with raising funds for Dove.
"She has two more surgeries to go through and we're just actually trying to raise money for her medical expenses, staying expenses, anything we can do to help," says Maegan Hanson's mom, Denise.
Hanson tells us that Dove is currently in the critical care unit in San Antonio, and is showing some improvements, but asks the community to keep her in their prayers.
Anyone who didn't attend today’s fundraiser, and wishes to make a donation can contact Makaylye Albright at 432-889-2394.
