Willie Robertson was the guest speaker at Crossroads Fellowship this morning drawing thousands to the church.
People traveled from out of state just to catch a glimpse of Duck Dynasty star Willie Robertson.
Robertson's simple message hit many ducks with one stone.
"Happy, Happy, Happy!" exclaims Youth Minister Sherri Todd.
Todd brought her youth group all the way from Roswell, New Mexico to see Crossroads' special guest.
"He's awesome and the reason why: he’s so down to earth and he sets good morals for people on TV these days."
So what was today's message?
"Faith, Family, and in Willie's case—Ducks, " says Lead Pastor Griffin Jones.
Jones says having guests like Willie Robertson makes it more comfortable for church members and easier for them to invite their friends who may be unfamiliar with the church.
Although Duck Dynasty is mostly filled with practical jokes and hunting, the stars of the show instill wholesome values.
"It's a family that's wrapped up around core values, Christian values and it's functional and I think people are drawn to that," says Jones, "During this good news that motivates their families and really transform their family's life, Well that's the same message we share. We kind of have a bond, and a common god and savior, and a common message."
With Robertson’s visit Crossroads Fellowship will launch a series called "Weird".
Pastor Jones explains, “Normal is not working for most people in the world.”
He says normal is to be in debt or to have a dysfunctional family.
He says Christ’s teachings came in a weird message: to love your enemies and to do good to those who persecute us.
