Warmer Today With Fewer Clouds 9/12/13
Thursday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Decreasing clouds and warmer temperatures are expected today as the storm system that has impacted the weather over the past couple of days departs to the northwest. High Pressure will remain in control of the weather pattern through the end of the week, keeping quiet conditions in place. However, big changes are on the horizon.
Look for partly cloudy skies and highs around 90 today and tomorrow. Winds will be out of the southeast at 10-20mph.
Clouds will increase across the region on Saturday and continue into next week. Rain chances will be in the offing but probably will not be an issue until Sunday. Early next week, a cold front will be stalled across the area. At the same time, a tropical system will be tracking northwest out of the Gulf of Mexico. If these two systems can favorably interact, heavy rain could be possible for some. Highs will be in the 80’s much of next week.
