Vikes Get Williams Back 9/11/13
UNDATED - Defensive tackle Kevin Williams has returned to practice for the Minnesota Vikings after missing the season opener with an injured right knee. Williams suffered a bone bruise and hyperextension of his right knee in the third preseason game at San Francisco.
The six-time Pro Bowler said last week that he would be shocked if he wasn't ready to play against the Bears.
In other injury news;
- Browns rookie linebacker Barkevious Mingo has been cleared to play and is expected to make his debut against Baltimore Sunday. Mingo suffered a bruised lung in an Aug. 15 exhibition game. The No. 6 overall pick in the draft missed Cleveland's final two preseason games and last week's season-opening loss to the Miami Dolphins.
- Kansas City running back Jamaal Charles is expected to be available for Sunday's game against Dallas after bruising his quad in last weekend's season-opening win at Jacksonville. Charles ran for 77 yards and a touchdown before hurting his quad in the second half. Coach Andy Reid says Charles took part in the team's morning walkthrough.
- New York Jets wide receiver Jeremy Kerley will not play in the team's game at New England on Thursday night because of a concussion. He took a hard hit from Tampa Bay's Mark Barron late in the second quarter of New York's victory Sunday. Kerley's helmet popped off, and Barron was assessed a 15-yard personal foul penalty.
