Djokovic-Nadal Final 9/9/13
NEW YORK - For the third time in four years Novak Djokovic (NOH'-vak JOH'-kuh-vich) and Rafael Nadal (rah-fay-EHL' nah-DAHL') are battling it out for the US Open men's title. They split the previous two.
Nadal won the opening set 6-2 and that could be a good omen for the Spaniard. Only once in the last 20 years has the first set winner lost the men's final.
It's the 37th time Djokovic and Nadal have been across the net from each other, the most for any two men's players in the Open era. Nadal has won 21 of the previous 36.
Djokovic is going for his seventh major championship title, while Nadal is in search of his 13th.
