Kerry Reasserts Syria Charge Despite Assad Denial 9/9/13
LONDON - Secretary of State John Kerry maintains the U.S. has compelling evidence that Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime used chemical weapons against his own people.
In his interview with CBS newsman Charlie Rose, Assad had called the U.S. accusations a "big lie," saying Kerry is not making the evidence public because it doesn't exist.
But at a news conference in London, Kerry insisted that he would be confident to take evidence gathered by U.S. intelligence into any courtroom.
Kerry says Assad could resolve the crisis simply by turning over "every single bit" of his weapons stock to the international community within a week.
