MIDLAND-Midland's Lemi Shine held their first-ever H2oh! Run today.
Residents had the option of either walking or running a 5K.
The run was held to raise funds for Living Water International.
This faith-based charity is currently working in 23 developing countries to provide access to safe drinking water.
Living Water’s Fundraising Coordinator, Shannon Strossner, says as a result of today’s race, everyone’s efforts will bless the entire community in Africa.
"We'll get to restore water in a community that has a broken down well. We'll do that by utilizing local leaders from the villages that are partnered with living water," said Strossner.
Strossner says at least 783 million people lack access to safe water.
