Midland - A local author was in prison when he wrote his novel; now he's sharing it with the world.
Odessa native, Cecil Ware, started doing meth in 1984. Since then, he has been in prison five times.
This last time, he had a realization that he wanted to turn his negative past into something positive.
He decided to write a 50 chapter novel called "Pushed" by hand, which took him over four years.
"I wrote it in a way where people who have not experienced getting high, can experience it so that they won't want to do it," Ware said.
He wrote the novel using a lot of his personal experience and added a little flare.
The story follows a meth addict who meets a girl that makes him want to change his life. He realizes that love is the greatest addiction of all.
You can find “Pushed” at Hastings and online.
