Midland – A couple facing child endangerment charges have been dismissed.
Carol Ann Clegg and Walter James Petronella were both charged with two counts of abandonment or endangering a child with imminent danger in July after their two children were found walking along North County Road 1140.
Midland County Sheriff’s officials say after the two children were found, Clegg came driving up claiming she had been looking for them.
After the children were returned home, deputies say Petronella came walking up to the house.
The Midland Reporter Telegram reports the charges were dropped after sufficient evidence was provided in favor of the couple. Petronella, however, does face one charge of abandonment or endangering a child with imminent danger.
