Hot Today With Iso. T-Storms 9/3/13
Tuesday Morning Weather Update
Greg Morgan Ė Chief Meteorologist
An upper level high pressure ridge remains in place to the north of our area today. Disturbances continue to drift around the outer periphery of the High and one or two of these are likely to move over Southwest Texas today. Due to the reasoning mentioned above, Iíve opted to keep about a 15% chance of isolated storms in the forecast for locations along and south of Interstate 20 this afternoon. Highs will be in the mid to upper 90ís for all but the mountains. Winds will be out of the east at 5-15mph.
The upper level ridge mentioned above will take a stronger hold over the area through the middle of the week. As a result, hot temperatures and sunny skies are expected.
A few disturbances will drift over the area late in the week and this weekend. While rain chances remain low, a few extra clouds and slightly cooler conditions are likely Friday through the weekend.
