PRESIDIO-CBS 7 is learning more about proposed changes at the Presidio port of entry.
Presidio county is spearheading the plans to expand the international Ojinaga-Presidio bridge, currently just one lane each direction.
Brad Newton, Executive Director of Presidio Municipal Development District, says the expansion would include the construction of a new bridge to the west of the current one.
There are three different designs, one including the construction of two new four-lane bridges.
Newton says a toll will likely be added on the U.S. side. There is currently a toll on the Mexico side of the international bridge.
TXDOT is hosting a community meeting today at 5:00 p.m. in Presidio at the Presidio Activity Center to discuss the project.
TXDOT will provide information on four different plans to expand the bridge that connects the two cities.
The expanded bridge and a possible new facility will reduce congestion and wait times at the busy crossing.
