TxDOT Promotes Labor Day Safety 8/25/13

(Odessa)- On Monday, Midland-Odessa residents will be jailed as part of Labor Day campaign to curb drunk driving.
TxDot officials will set up the mock jail in the quad at UT-Permian Basin by the Student Recreation Building and Library Lecture Center.
It starts at 9:00am and will run until 1:00pm.
It will features mobile jail cell with a toilet, sink and bunk bed.
It's designed to give a close-up look at what it's like to land in jail as the result of a DWI.
There will also be an oversized receipt to show the financial costs of a DWI, which can cost up to $17,000.
The exhibit will also feature a giant story wall.
The "Drive Sober" enforcement period begins Monday and runs thru the Labor Day Holiday weekend.
