Midland Memorial Hospital Holds Special Event for Kids of Big Brothers Big Sisters 8/24/13
CBS 7 News
MIDLAND-Kids from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midland had their very own play day.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is one of many charities supported by Midland Memorial Hospital’s program, United Way.
Midland Memorial employees spent their morning interacting with kids who have been waiting months, some even years for a big brother or big sister.
“I always feel really lonely," said Tyger, a boy in need of a Big Brother.
“That special one on one time, even if it’s just for a short period of time every week, can mean the world to a child,” said Michelle Pendergrass, Director of Compliance at Midland Memorial.
Pendergrass said in the past employees have signed up to become a volunteer because of this annual event.
