ALPINE-Mayor Avinash Rangra of Alpine says the city is moving forward on a project to make the city a railroad quiet zone.
The $225,000 project is open for bids. They will be adding concrete blocks to railroad crossings to keep vehicles from crossing while the safety guards are down.
Rangra said they have had some difficulty getting bids, but they are optimistic about the project starting in the near future.
