ANDREWS-The Andrews City Council will vote on a resolution tonight calling for a special election to consider the sale of alcohol in the city.
The council meeting will be tonight at 5:30 p.m. at the City Hall.
A petition circulated by Andrews Expansion Council gathered enough signatures to call an election for the legal sale of mixed beverages in restaurants and the sale of beer and wine for off-premise consumption.
This means that stores could sell beer and wine, but mixed-drinks will only be sold in restaurants.
The council will also discuss possible distance regulations in the regulation of alcohol sales.
