UPDATE: Stocks Open Mixed, Then Turn Higher 8/20/13
NEW YORK - Stocks have edged higher for the first time in five days. Better results from Best Buy and other retailers are lifting the broader market.
Several of the retailers rose sharply in early trading. Best Buy rose 11 percent and Urban Outfitters rose 9 percent.
Investors were also encouraged by a decline in bond yields, which are used to set interest rates on many kinds of loans including home mortgages.
