CBS 7 News
The Pecos man accused of threatening local law enforcement officers and their families from behind a computer is ready to go to trial.
That's according to Pecos federal court officials, who say Jacob Esparza has been cleared following a mental evaluation in North Carolina.
Esparza is accused of posting threats on a public forum under the user name “El Diablo.”
The threats targeted law enforcement officers in Midland, Pecos, Fort Stockton, and Big Spring.
A grand jury indicted Esparza on at least 6 federal charges back in December.
A pre-trial hearing is set for September 16th.
