Rain And Cooler Air On The Way 8/13/13
Tuesday Weather Update
Greg Morgan – Chief Meteorologist
Another hot day is expected across West Texas but a change is on the way. Look for highs this afternoon in the mid to upper 90’s. Winds will be out of the south at 10-15mph. Most locations will see dry conditions as a high pressure ridge drifts over South Texas.
The ridge mentioned above will drift to our west over the next 24 hours. At the same time, a trough of low pressure will drift south over the eastern 1/3 of the nations. This trough will drag a cold front southward into Texas later tonight.
Widespread rain and thunderstorms will develop along this front overnight and as the front drops into our area, so will the rain.
Expect cooler temperatures and a chance of rain on Wednesday.
Temperatures will climb into the mid and upper 90’s on Thursday and Friday. However, rain chances will remain in place both Thursday and Friday.
Look for dry and hot conditions to return this weekend.
