Man Wanted for Aggravated Robbery at Odessa HEB 8/2/13
ODESSA - On August 1, 2013 at approximately 1658 hours, Officers responded to 3801 E. 42nd St. (HEB) in reference to a robbery that had just occurred. Upon arrival, Officers made contact with the victim, identified as Heather Conner, 34 years of age. Conner reported that while she was walking towards the store entrance a vehicle pulled up next to her with a male subject in the front-right passenger seat and female subject in the driver’s seat.
Conner reported that the male subject asked for directions and handed her a piece of paper. While Conner reached for the piece of paper, the male subject grabbed her purse and the female driver accelerated the vehicle, causing Conner to fall to the ground and be dragged by the vehicle. Conner was able to brake free and the two suspects left the scene with Conner’s purse in a Champagne colored Cadillac with a Maroon colored roof.
Investigators then traced the suspects to Game Stop because they used Conner’s credit cards. Investigators then located the listed vehicle at Game Stop and conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Walmart Court. During the traffic stop, a male subject and female subject ran out of Game Stop and away from the scene. The subject who was in the listed vehicle was detained and reported that the vehicle was being driven by “Osiel” and that it belonged to his girlfriend.
Officers eventually located the female subject, identified as Maria Soto Navarrete, date of birth 07/12/1981. Navarrete agreed to be interviewed and was transported to the police station. A warrant was obtained for Navarrete for Aggravated Robbery, Felony 1. Navarrete was charged and arrested accordingly.
A warrant was also obtained for Osiel Jose Alvarez, date of birth 07/07/1986, for Aggravated Robbery. Alvarez is a Hispanic male and is 5’09” and approximately 200 lbs.
