Odessa Man Arrested After Threatening to Kill Law Enforcement 8/1/13

Odessa, Texas – Today, Sonny Alaniz, 38 of Odessa was arrested by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force at approximately 4:00 p.m., in the 400 Block West 48th without incident. Alaniz was the subject of an arrest warrant by the Odessa Police Department pursuant to allegations that Alaniz was charged with aggravated assault against a family member.
The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force prioritized their investigative efforts in seeking Alaniz’s apprehension and subsequently worked diligently throughout the past 48 hours in an attempt to apprehend Alaniz. Officers determined late this afternoon that Alaniz was hiding out in the area of W. 48th and Wright Drive in Odessa. Officers were able to narrow down where Alaniz was hiding and made entry into a residence arresting Alaniz after finding him hiding under a cabinet in the rear of the house.
Alaniz was transported to the Ector County Jail.

ODESSA - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested an Odessa man who threatened to kill law enforcement officers.
Authorities have been seeking 38-year-old Sonny Alaniz for nearly a month after he was in a situation where he was threatening to kill his girlfriend and law enforcement officers.
Alaniz was charged with tree counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in Ector County Detention Center.
Task Force officers say he was found hiding under a cabinet in the back of the home.
