Rain Causes Problems For The Permian Basin 7/30/13
July 30, 2013
Pleasant Farms - Rain is always welcome here in the Permian Basin, however the intensity of the storm that we had Tuesday night caused a lot of big problems. Six hundred residents in the community of Pleasant Farms were left without power due to the storm. Hundreds of Odessa residents were also left without power for a couple of hours.
According to the Oncor power outage map, power should be restored in Pleasant Farms by 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. For those in Odessa Oncor is still assessing the situation and has no estimate as to when power will be restored.
Permian Basinís roadways also saw a lot of issues, there was almost immediate flooding that really affected the access roads and low water crossings. Many wrecks along I-20 caused traffic to be backed up due to cars sliding on the slick roads.
